My LIA will be in New York, I will be joining a community of scholars, advocates, and activists who work to support educational justice. While my work is virtual, I look forward to exploring the actual New York city communities that are supported by my work. Last summer my research focused on youth activism and political change, and now I get to work with a nonprofit that enacts such social change. In some ways the work feels very different, I get to look toward the future, rather than digging through records of the past.
