LiA Blog 3 - Transforming Data into Stories

This week we began analyzing survey responses. Reading the narratives was both eye-opening and humbling. Participants spoke about stigma, lack of resources, and how menstrual inequity shapes their daily lives.

As leader, I faced the challenge of guiding the team to translate raw data into meaningful stories without losing nuance. I encouraged us to ask: What does this data mean for our advocacy? Rather than focusing purely on statistics, we discussed how to amplify lived experiences in a respectful and compelling way.

I developed skills in balancing empathy with analytical thinking. Leadership here meant ensuring that voices from the survey were honored while steering the group toward creating materials that would resonate with the wider public. The impact is beginning to crystallize—we are turning hidden struggles into visible issues that demand attention.
