With the project now reaching its final stages, most of this week was spent working on the final product and preparing the presentations that we will give both to the other scholars and to Hagamos Composta. A large part of the work involved going back through all of the notes, research and interviews we had accumulated over the past weeks and deciding what was actually worth including. This ended up taking more time than expected, especially because the format of the final deliverable was quite different from what we had initially imagined. We had originally planned on producing a fairly complete written report of several dozen pages, but eventually realised that a much shorter and more visual document of around 15–20 pages would be more useful. This meant condensing a lot of information, reorganising sections and finding ways to communicate the most important findings without losing too much detail.
Alongside the final report, we also spent time preparing the presentations and thinking about how to clearly explain the main conclusions of our work, the impact of the project and the recommendations we want to leave Hagamos Composta with. It has been interesting to see everything gradually come together after several weeks of research, surveys, calls and discussions. The main challenge now is less about finding new information and more about turning everything we have gathered into something concise, practical and easy for the organisation to use.
We still managed to make the most of our last days in Mexico City outside of work. Over the past few days, we went to see lucha libre, visited Xochimilco and spent more time exploring the historic centre. We also went to a football match between Club América and San Diego, which was another very different way of experiencing the city. With the end of the project getting closer, it has been nice to combine the final push
