My third week at IRC Hellas has been a testament to the power of adaptability, trusting the process, and settling in. While my first few weeks were focused on exploring the organization and learning their systems of operation, I have now officially spent a week working on a project proposal. I received positive feedback from my supervisor regarding the initial stages of my project design, which was incredibly affirming and heartwarming. She has asked me to write a recommendation of my personal opinions for the next steps of the project based on the research and information I have gained thus far. It was a huge vote of confidence in my capabilities here! I feel extremely lucky to continue building these relationships and supporting the IRC. I am now heading into the partner-mapping stage, where I will reach out to other Civil Society Organizations and Non-Governmental Organizations to find opportunities for collaboration on this project. Something I have learned is that almost every humanitarian project is run by multiple organizations that come together across different regions and areas of expertise. This creates the most comprehensive skillset and wide-reaching capacity for a project. We are never strongest when we work alone, and I think that is a beautiful lesson from the humanitarian sphere.
