Leadership in Action Week 5: Opening the New Exhibition

This week was a particularly hectic one as it was the week of the opening of the new exhibition! On the day of, I was juggling multiple responsibilities from 11am to 9pm as we had a jam-packed day of press conferences, donor receptions, and a series of opening night performances and events lined up. First, I was working with the Communications team to interview all the artists in attendance to create content for our social media outlets to promote the new exhibition. It was a great experience to meet and chat with so many international artists about their artistic practice. One of the interviews even involved me babysitting the artist's toddler while she was speaking to ensure the interview went off without a hitch! After a full morning of Communications work, I joined the Visitor Engagement team at the front desk to welcome the hundreds of major donors and VIP guests that were joining for the festivities of the afternoon and evening. It was quite an experience switching between French and English to accommodate different guests, and I managed to catch a glimpse of some very prestigious guests including the Ambassador of Zimbabwe to France! It was a great feeling to see all of our work on the new exhibition come to fruition on this day, and to hear so much positive feedback from all of the guests in attendance.
