Hi Laidlaw!!! LAST BLOG. Who would have thought I would actually miss writing these. You will actually have to hangout with me if you ever want to hear any future thoughts (Ben and Albee targeted) (you’re lucky someone still wants to be friends w you after posting those last blogs anyway).
I am currently sat in the train on the way to NEW YORK CITY to visit my friend from school for a few days!! I am then going to visit my other friends in Paris and then taking the train to do yet more camping (I have not yet had enough) with some home friends. For someone who goes on about how much I love my parents and being home I do seem to know how to avoid going back (a third camping trip is already in the works).
Our last week in Vancouver was so, so lovely and went incredibly fast. I did 6 more hours of dancing to get it out of my system before returning to the middle of no where. Although I have already booked a dance class in New York tomorrow so maybe there is no such thing as getting dance out of my system! I also allowed myself to go on a run (I have been banned from running since March as I have tendinitis but I figured the happiness I would get from running would outweigh any pain)!
Tilly and I also continued our broken leg friendly activities. On Tuesday we cycled around Stanley Park on a tandem (I did the cycling and she just chilled on the backseat and tried to pretend she was fine with letting me be in control) (we only almost crashed twice) (her leg is still fine ish). We also went Kayaking at deep cove which was really beautiful! Our research team also took us out for dinner and drinks to say goodbye/ thanks/ tell us about the internal drama/ convince us to come back/ convince us to send our college kids over to them next summer (who did not do Laidlaw because they are going through their rebel era and not listening to their wise parents).
The highlight of the week was DEFINITELY leaving our flatmates. I have not written about their HORRIBLENESS in these blogs as I am trying to be positive and not let them impact me. Although we did have several extremely petty arguments. And Tilly received many many rants from me. It is really incredible knowing I will never ever ever ever ever ever ever ever need to live with them again!
Leaving our flatmates was the highlight of the week, however the highlight of the trip occurred in the airport!!! WE GOT TO RIDE IN A BUGGY!!!!!! (Thanks again to Tilly for being a great friend and sacrificing her leg in order to experience these activities).
There is nothing quite like riding a buggy,
Especially on days when you are feeling slug-y.
The wind blows through your hair,
As you inhale the sweet airport air.
Tilly was screaming in delight,
‘Tis the sound of transportation done right!
How will I ever travel any other way?
It truly was the best day.
Thanks Laidlaw for the best summer ever!!!!
