This photo is essentially the culmination of my research this summer, and an end goal that I'm proud to have achieved. Technically speaking, this is my research! Last night, I was accompanied by a few members of my research team and we sought out to photograph Saturn. As you can see, we switched gears after completing the alignment process and started photographing the moon. Though we prepared to use our fancy DSLR camera, none of the adaptors seemed to be the right one, so we transitioned to the phone mount. And, finally, we ended up a pretty good image of the moon to share as a mark of our successes. This photo also represents the ups and downs of my project, the consistent thinking on my feet, and on-site problem solving that is astrophotography. Now, I plan to edit some of my photos briefly to bring out some of the smaller features of the moon, and see how much detail can really be captured through an IPhone 15 lens (+480x magnification) .
