- How have the workshops and discussions on leadership this week changed your understanding of what leadership means?
I've always seen leadership as a rather subjective concept. Yet exploring leadership as something more concrete helps me visualize clearer ways to exhibit leadership across my college and professional careers. As I move forward with my research and summer, I'll aim to put into practice leadership, communication, and other strategies learned today.
- How might you imagine applying one model of leadership during your Laidlaw summer on campus—either within the Laidlaw cohort or beyond this community? While we often associate leadership and leaders with seniority, how might leadership be modeled among individuals who are among the youngest people on campus (i.e. you!)?
As explored today, leadership is a behavior rather than a title. While on campus, I'll aim to exhibit this trait in a plethora of ways---perhaps doing so within my research team could be fruitful. I visualize myself being outspoken, open-minded, and enthusiastic, aiming to help others' (and myself) reach their full potential.Â
