This summer I worked with Professor Paredez in the Ethnicity and Race studies department on her book project titled "The American Diva".
This summer I worked with Professor Paredez in the Ethnicity and Race studies department on her book project titled "The American Diva", which takes a look into the ways that divas have impacted American culture today as well as modern day representations of girlhood in media. While my work largely centered around social media engagement, I was able to use the skills I learned in the sessions to learn more about media representation of women throughout modern history, which will aid me in my second summer as well.
