Poster: Racial Discrimination and Cardiovascular Disease
This poster summarizes a literature review I conducted in order to propose one potential pathway through which repeated experiences of racial discrimination might lead to cardiovascular disease. This is the first step in establishing background for a study my lab will conduct, measuring participants' physiological responses to remembering their own experiences with racial discrimination. We will do so by using script-driven imagery, a paradigm commonly used in trauma research; this will help us study racism as a traumatic stressor.
